What is really cool about yoga is that there are actually exercises you can do right from the comfort of your chair at the office. In particular, there are some stretches that can be done while sitting in your chair. For example, you can do spine twists, side stretches, and arm stretches. You can also do feet and leg stretches. To do a foot and leg stretch, sit in the chair with your legs straight out in front of you, with your feet together. This exercise works best if you remove your shoes. Lean back in your chair slightly so that you can lift your feet up off the ground. Point your toes so that they are straight in line with your legs. Then flex the feet opposite of pointing the toes , keeping your toes curled, but bringing the foot as far back as you can. Then, straighten the toes, also pulling them back as far as you can just with the muscles in your legs and feet do not grab your toes or feet . With your toes remaining flexed curled back , point your feet again. Then point your toes again to bring you back to your starting position. Repeat the process a few times. If your thigh muscles are burning from keeping your legs aloft for too long, you can let your heels drop onto the floor, but continue the motions of your feet and toes. When you are done, return your feet flat to the floor, where you can rub the soles gently on the rug if you have one, massaging and relaxing the feet just a bit more.
